At the 24th EUROTAS Conference in Oxford, I had the opportunity to give two presentations, one on ‘Transpersonal Gerontology - an old approach revisited’ and the second on ‘Dementia, the dissolution of the self and extraordinary experiences of consciousness’. Even though the presentations (always in groups of three or four) did not attract huge audiences due to the abundance of offers (up to 14 parallel sessions!), they did lead to some deep conversations, and with many others with whom I happened to get into conversation, especially my theses on dementia met with great irritation, interest and often enthusiasm.
Auf der 24. EUROTAS Conference in Oxford hatte ich die Gelegenheit, zwei Präsentationen zu halten, eine über "Transpersonal Gerontology - an old approach revisited" und die zweite über "Dementia, the dissolution of the self and extraordinary experiences of consciousness". Auch wenn die Präsentationen (stets innerhalb eines Blocks zu dritt oder viert) aufgrund der Fülle an Angeboten (bis zu 14 parallele Sessions!) keine Unmengen an Zuhörern anzogen, so ergaben sich doch durch sie einige tiefe Gespräche, und bei vielen weiteren, mit denen ich zufällig ins Gespräch kam, stießen vor allem meine Thesen zu Demenz auf große Irritation, Interesse und oftmals Begeisterung.
